It's a midi affair!!!

It's out with the maxi and mini, and in with the midi for Spring/Summer 2012. It's time to embrace those fuller lenghts, and we no longer have to worry about tripping over those maxi's anymore.. The midi is not only more funtional than the maxi, but it's more flattering than the mini and suits most body shapes. It can be easily carried from day to night, by simply adding a pair of show stopping heels, just like these beauties http://www.office.co.uk/womens/office/kaleidoscope_platform/37/1712/30196/1?fs=1712 from www.office.co.uk. I've found some of the best midi's at asos.com, but all the high street stores are doing equally gorgeous versions, so you can be sure to find one to suit you.

Enjoy,

The Tallest Man on Earth!!!

Kristian Matsson is the swedish singer/songwriter, better known as "the tallest man on earth". He has releashed two albums to date, as well as two EP's since 2006. He is known for his husky folk songs as well as his unmistakeable charismatic stage presence. He continues to astound his critics both with his ability to write mesmerising songs, along with his unusual vocal style. It is no wonder he has been compared to the great Bob Dylan. When asked about his lyrical style, he explains that he began listening to Bob Dylan from the age of 15, and it was here that he slowly became exposed to early American folk music. When talking about his style, Matsson explains how he uses a variety of open tunings in his songs, and this allows him to concentrate more on his vocals. The fact that he is currently touring both America and Europe, with sold out shows Worldwide, only highlights how talented "the tallest man on earth" truely is.

Pretty 90's Trend!

For those of you who felt you couldn't venture into the full on grunge trend showcased on many of the winter catwalks, pretty 90's may be your perfect answer. Think slouchy, sheer maxi dresses, cropped tops layered under baggy dungarees, oversized knits and sweaters tied around the waist. I'd describe it as a girlie grunge, instead of full on black we see an introduction of pastel shades, think old school american. One essential component is a pair of high-tops.

Vintage Interiors!!!

Vintage fashion has gained a massive fashion following both internationally, and within Ireland and the UK in recent years. The number of shops and charity stores which continue to spring up all around the country not only showcase the growing market for the reasurrgence in vintage, antique & used clothes and accessories, but also our love for timeless goods. Interior design has embraced the concept of modern and contempory design for almost a decade now, so it seems fitting that the vintage market is now making an impact on our interiors also. Imagine the fabrics in our grandparents houses, lace, velvet, vintage floral, wrought Iron beds mixed with french furniture and dark woods. Many of these materials and fabrics can be sourced in antique and vintage markets for low prices, making it more purse friendly for the current economic market we find ourselfs in. Reclaming furniture is also a way to save money and get truely amazing one off pieces. Crochet and knitting may seem old fashioned but the fact that there are many shops openning up specialising in these materials, shows that we are once again embracing and appreciating handmade work. I found some beautiful pictures of vintage bedding which I absolutely adore, just to give you an idea of what you can create with the mix of  vintage fabrics and textures.
